When it comes to CPD and/or accreditation services, not all companies are the same. The CPD Regulatory Office was established in 2020 as part of a UK initiative to ensure standards are met across the board with training. A rise in self-regulation, or companies looking for financial gain, has started to reduce the overall quality of training and a rise in accreditation or CPD being awarded to companies that do not meet specific criteria.
The aim of the CPD Regulatory Office is to provide training providers with a directory of approved and recognised CPD and accreditation companies.
The companies listed are checked against a number of merits to ensure that students, employees, and delegates receive high standards of training, with exceptional course content, as well as ensuring that training providers are removed should they fail to provide adequate training to attendees.
CPD Regulatory Office has seen a huge rise in fraud over the last few years, where course attendees are offered sub-standard training, often by inadequately qualified or experienced trainers with limited theory or course knowledge, leaving attendees ill-equipped or lacking the knowledge to perform tasks or services that they should be confident in. This gives rise to a wider issue of public health and safety.
Our comprehensive list of CPD and Accreditation providers is assessed via several checkpoints ensuring both training providers and delegates are assured of their legitimacy when looking to have courses approved and standardised, or looking for high-quality comprehensive training courses.
Should a CPD or Accreditation provider not be listed, then they do not meet our strict approval criteria and courses bearing the logo or a CPD or Accreditation provider not listed with us, may not be to standard.
How does a CPD or Accreditation provider meet our criteria to be listed? We look at the following before adding a CPD or Accreditation Provider to our site:
Length of time established
Number of registered businesses
Accreditation and CPD process, including what checks they make on courses submitted as well as background checks on trainers or mentors delivering training, to ensure that they are qualified and/or experienced to provide training to others.
How the CPD or Accreditation company deals with and/or handles delegate complaints where training falls short of the expected industry standard.
Removing non-compliant or poor-performing academies from their CPD or Accreditation program should they be found to be delivering poor standard training and/or have received a high number of complaints from students or delegates.
Ensuring that as a training provider you use only trusted and exceptional CPD or Accreditation services allows you to be confident that your courses meet a minimum industry standard. This ensures your courses are going to provide your delegates with the essential knowledge and high standards required that will allow them to advance in their careers confidently. As a student, choosing courses that hope CPD points by the companies listed on our site, or are accredited via the accreditation services mentioned will hopefully protect you or your employees from poor standards or training. If you are an accreditation provider or CPD service and not listed on our site, please contact robert.hill@cpdregulatoryoffice.org.uk
